Programme Synopsis

INTRODUCTION TO FILM MAKING aims to educate students on films and inspire them to be visual storytellers. The programme starts off with testing the students’ understanding on cinema and the film industry. It then proceeds to inform them of the pioneers of films. Films, a form of a powerful medium, are being consumed now more than ever in Singapore and other neighboring countries. Films are also a reflection of the society we live in. Students will be introduced to both local and international short films. By watching multiple films, followed by insightful discussions, students will get to reflect and discover the types of films that cause an impact on them, and the reasons behind it. Film genres and stages of production will also be covered. This 2-hr programme is packed with the fundamental basics and introductory information on film making with sufficient amount of time for
